Mosquito
A high, erratic whine that never stops. Always audible, never where you expect — it wanders constantly and twitches harder the closer you get.

— an audio-first chase by Studio Darkly —
Dark Intercept is an audio-first chase game: you hunt by ear, not by sight. Your quarry is a continuous spatial beacon — panned by direction, fading with distance, Doppler-shifted as it moves. When it slips beyond hearing, an active ping echoes back off it to reveal where it went. Steer into it to capture it, clear the arena, and beat the clock.
The arena wraps at every edge, so there's no corner to trap your target in — only your ears and your timing. Play with headphones, VoiceOver and TalkBack are first-class, with steering paths built for each.
Customize sounds to hear them better - adjust pitch, rasp, tone and more. Adjust left and right voluume and boost. Check out all the options: settings guide
Track your quarry by ear across a wrapping arena and capture it before the clock runs out — no map, no sprites, just sound.

Each subject sounds different and moves differently, so it plays like a different skill:
A high, erratic whine that never stops. Always audible, never where you expect — it wanders constantly and twitches harder the closer you get.
Low, rhythmic hoofbeats with silence between. Easy to place each beat, so the skill is timing the gallop — it runs straight, then bolts when you close in.
A steady propeller drone, easy to track but fast. It sweeps in tight circles, so you're always cutting the corner to catch up.
Dark Intercept turns the simplest idea — chase the sound — into a game of pure listening. Read the settings guide to see how deep the tuning goes.
